To the Marshall of the District of Columbia&#8212;Greeting:</p>

<p>We command you that you take Solomon Sparrow &amp; George Cruse if they be found within the county of Alexandria, in your said District, and them safely keep, so that you have their bodies before the honorable the Judges of the Circuit Court of the District of Columbia, at the Court-House in the town of Alexandria, at the next Court, to answer Negro Janney of a plea of Trespass Assault and False Imprisonment Damage One Hundred dollars</p> 

<p>And have then and there this Writ. Witness William Cranch, Esq. Chief Judge of our said Court, this 4th day of January 1808.</p>
