It appearing from the oath of Mary Fitzpatrick that Negroe Jacob has been imported into this Commonwealth and sold subsequent to the year 1778 from the state of Maryland. It is my opinion that the said negroe is entitled to his freedom under an Act of Assembly passed in that year prohibiting the importation of slaves in to this Commonwealth.
