<p>That if the Jury believe that the Deft: contracted with the Husband of the Petr: (a free man) for the purchase of the Petitioner at the price of 400$; <del>which</del> &amp; that the said Husband had agreed to pay the said sum of money as the price of the Petr: then <del>the Petr is entitled to her freedom</del> such contract is evidence of an importation contrary to the <bibl type="code">act of assembly of 1796</bibl>. Unless the

the Jury should from the circumstances given in evidence <del>shd.</del> believe that the Deft. had no intentions when he brought in the Petr. of <del>selling her or</del> her being sold or residing <del>therein</del> in this County.</p>
