To the Marshal of the District of Columbia -- Greeting:</p>

<p>We command you that you <del>take</del> to summon Jess Conn if he shall be found within the County of Washington, in your said District, <del>and him safely keep,</del> so that <del>you have bod</del> he be and appear before the Circuit Court of the District of Columbia, to be held for the County aforesaid, at the City of Washington, on the fourth Monday of March next, to answer <del>unto</del> the Petition for freedom of Samuel Smith filed in said Court against him.</p>

<p>Hereof fail not, at your peril, and have then and there this writ.</p>

<p>Witness Wm Cranch Esquire, Chief Judge of our said Court at the City of Washington, the 23d day of Jany Anno Domini, one thousand eight hundred and 33</p>

<p>Issued the 7th day of Febry. 1833.</p>
