<p>The Petition of William Green humbly sheweth— That he is entitled to his freedom &amp; is unjustly held in bondage by a certain Elisha Jewell, who claims to hold your petitioner as a Slave.— Wherefore he prays your Honors that subp&#156;na may issue to the said Elisha Jewell that he may be compelled to appear &amp; answer hereunto, &amp; that your Petitioner may be discharged from his service &amp; adjudged free according to law.—</p>
