<p>County of Washington to wit on this 12th day of June in the year Eighteen hundred and seven Sabrit Scott the owner of a Mullatto man called Ben fully proved to the satisfaction of me the subscriber the Collector of the Tax for the County of Washington and District of Columbia aforesaid. that the said Negro Ben was a resident of the state of Virginia one of the United States three <del>years</del> whole years next preceding the time when the said <del>Negro B</del> Mullatto Ben was brought into the State of Maryland</p>
