                    <p><persName target="psn:0560">We</persName> have been <placeName
                            target="geo:0149">here</placeName> three weeks—lovely place—we have a
                        cottage of our own—two large rooms and bath. Also a lovely garden—all our
                        own. The guests are all charming New England people, intelligent and good
                        manners. In spite of all this I am bored to death and we start for
                            <placeName target="geo:0082">Grand Manan</placeName> on Tuesday—by the
                        roughest and hardest way, too! Long train ride to <placeName
                            target="geo:0251">Calais</placeName>, then arrive <placeName
                            target="geo:0250">St. Stephen</placeName> in the middle of the
                        night—then <del rend="strikethrough">boa</del> wait there two days and
                        finally board the Grand Manan II<pb facs="cat.let2384.002"/><fw
                            type="letterhead" place="top">ASTICOU INN <lb/>NORTHEAST HARBOR
                            <lb/>MAINE</fw> at <emph rend="underline">six</emph> oclock in the
                        morning!</p>
                    <p>I wish we were going to find the happy little <persName
                            target="psn:0185 psn:0197">nieces</persName> I found there <ref
                            type="annotation" target="001783">long ago</ref> when we get there. Then
                        it <emph rend="underline">would</emph> be worth a hard trip!</p>
